There are world history classes required at every level of public education, but those courses tend to be very general. At the university level, there are a wide range of classes. Lower level history and literature courses include textbooks, works of literature, and other documents translated into English. Advanced level courses include materials in their original languages. Popular areas of focus include Chinese, Japanese and Indian history and literature. Recently, several classics of Eastern philosophy have become very popular. In particular, the Dao De Jing, Bhagavad Gita, and I Ching are available in many translations. Classics of literature, such as Dream of the Red Chamber and Journey to the West, are also easily found. Asian material arts also have a large number of enthusiasts in America. Arts such as Tai Kwan Do, Judo, Aikido and Kung Fu attract people of all ages. Tai Chi Chuan is also practiced by those interested in Asian arts and medicine. Emperor of Japan (1926–1989) who advocated the Japanese government's unconditional surrender that ended World War II (1945). In 1946 he renounced his divine status. This is the last class in this semester, next week (1/29) will have a dinner party in 陶板屋
